Qualifications and Experience

Rebecca graduated with a first-class honours degree in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Strathclyde in 2015. She has worked in both Grampian and North Hartlepool & Tees NHS boards working with paediatric caseloads and as a result she has a wide range of clinical experience. In 2021 Rebecca completed a postgraduate course in nutrition at the University of Aberdeen.

Professional Registration

Rebecca is registered as a Speech and Language Therapist with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC). She is also a member of professional bodies including the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy (RCSLT) and Association of Speech and Language Therapy in Independent Practice (ASLTIP).

Approach to therapy

Rebecca implements evidence-based approaches in therapy and adopts an episode of care model. This means that she will be completely transparent throughout the process and will only offer therapy when clinically appropriate. Therapeutic programmes will be bespoke to meet your child’s needs and will be based upon the current research. The effectiveness of therapy and therapy targets will be reviewed regularly.

Rebecca believes therapy has to be functional, fun and relevant to the child. She will work in partnership with the therapy partner (e.g. parent/caregiver).

Continued Professional Development

Rebecca is dedicated to building on her qualifications and staying up to date with research advancements by attending training courses, conferences, seminars and regular supervisory consultation.
